A big trend in 2016 that has made it’s way into 2017 is slip on sneakers. Starting with Vans and Steve Madden this trend has infiltrated the different stores to make it widely available. These shoes come in a wide variety of textures, colors, and styles to mesh with your personal style and make them very easy to wear. Here I’m going to show you three fun and unique ways to wear your slip on sneakers ranging from super comfortable and casual to something school appropriate.
This outfit is the ideal for layering as it incorporates different textures from the jacket to the tighter knit of the sweater to the thicker knit pattern from the blanket scarf. Cuffing the dark skinny jeans will accentuate your body’s proportions and show off the shoes. The outfit could be completed with different colors or textures of the type of shoe you choose. I chose a white pair because it coordinates with the light colored sweater and brightens the outfit as a whole. This outfit would be perfect for school on a colder day or visiting colleges.
Ripped denim has been a classic trend throughout the 2000’s and 2010’s. The boyfriend cut of jeans are extremely comfortable as they have a wider straight leg cut and are wider through the hip and leg. Pairing these looser fit jeans with a tighter shirt or bodysuit will accentuate the waist and create more fluidity throughout the outfit without having excess fabric if it was paired with a loose shirt. The shoes will make the outfit more polished and layering a sweater over the outfit makes the outfit perfect for chilly days.
T-shirt dresses are the most comfortable piece of clothing and are universally flattering for every body type. They also give the illusion of putting more effort into the outfit than you truly are as you are just throwing on a dress. The chunky sweater gives added layering and texture which can be paired with a textured pair of slip on shoes for added depth to the outfit. The outfit can be accessorized with almost anything from a infinity scarf, statement necklace, or bracelets-whatever you are feeling that day.
These outfits are universally acceptable for most events and settings but can be altered to your own personal comfort and styling.
